56 Local Leaders To Attend Leadership Visit

56 Local Leaders Heading to Fort Collins for Leadership Visit

On October 4-6, a delegation of 56 leaders from a cross-section of Columbia/Boone County’s business, civic, education, and nonprofit sectors will head to Fort Collins, CO for the Chamber’s third annual Leadership Visit! The Chamber will be sharing daily posts from the trip to communicate information and highlights with those back home.

On the Leadership Visit, our group will meet with business, government, and community leaders from the Fort Collins area to discuss challenges and opportunities their community is facing, innovative programs, and approaches they have used to tackle problems, which may be adapted and used to inform ideas for our community.

Examples of topics being covered on the 2016 trip include downtown planning, parking and zoning; quality of life and workforce recruitment and retention; city partnerships and relationship with the university and private sector; local legislative issues and emerging topics; highway funding; city transit planning; and university technology transfer, innovation, and growth.

The visit provides an opportunity for interaction among business and civic leaders and facilitates exchange of best practices and lessons learned, while offering high-level networking opportunities. The most tangible reason to conduct this visit is to get new ideas.
