  • From June 1 – 3, 125 teams from throughout Missouri will compete in the Show-Me STATE GAMES 3v3 Soccerfest. Hundreds of spectators and athletes will be at Hickman High School on Saturday and Sunday. See here for details and schedule. The GAMES will continue on June 8-10 , July 20-22 and July 27-29 with more than 40 sports for all ages and skill levels.   • The Drury Plaza Hotel Columbia East is nearing completion and will begin to welcome guests beginning July 6, with a ribbon cutting celebration scheduled on August 8 at 11:30 am. The new hotel is the company’s second property in Columbia, Missouri, and 36th in the state. In addition to its 210 guest rooms, the property features more than 3,200 square feet of flexible meeting and event space. As the hotel readies for guests, Drury team member Tom Drury has been named the property’s general manager and Leah Stotts will serve as the area sales manager. Stotts and Drury are both graduates of the University of Missouri – Columbia.
  • Boone County Commission will recognize those citizens dedicated to keeping our County beautiful through their participation in Boone County’s Adopt-A-Road program and encourage more citizen participation in this program. In 2017, over 300 large bags of trash and recyclables were collected from the 32 miles of roadway adopted in Boone County. Approximately 200 citizens participate in the Adopt-A-Road program annually.
  • The Columbia SBTDC is offering the Kaufmann Foundation’s “FastTrac Growth Venture” course to help established companies who want to grow their companies in a sustainable and operationally efficient manner. Please contact Soo Koon Lee for more details.


  • Central Bank of Boone County is announcin eight employee promotions made in April. Subah Mohua of the Downtown Bank has been promote to senior teller. Senior tellers lead the branches operationally and assist fellow tellers when needed. Kevin Dahman of the Downtown bank has been promoted to business development analyst. The bank’s Customer Service Center, which assists customers with account maintenance by telephone, promoted Mary Watson, Elizabeth Rounkles, Robert Perkins, David Fisher and Elise Castellanos to customer service representative II. Samuel Crisman of the Lake of the Woods Bank has been promoted to Financial Associate.
